The crochet hooks come in a dark purple faux leather zip up case. There are 11 colored hooks sized 6.5mm to 2mm in 0.5mm decrements. The 11 smaller, silver hooks are sized: 1.9, 1.75, 1.6, 1.5, 1.4, 1.25, 1.1, 1.0, 0.9, 0.85, 0.75, 0.6mm. They are not labeled with English measurement equivalents. The colored hooks are made out of an aluminum alloy and are lightweight and sturdy. However, the thin diameter of the smaller of these hooks causes them to be bendable. In contrast, all the silver hooks appear to be made from a steel alloy and are not flexible at all.

Since the sleeves for the hooks are clear, you can read the sizes of the hooks without removing them from the case. The sizes aren’t placed precisely on some of the smaller hooks (off-center). While you can still read them, it indicates a lack of quality control in the manufacturing process. The lengths vary somewhat on the colored hooks, and get longer as the hook size gets smaller. They are all the same length for the silver ones.

The colored hooks are okay to use but don’t feel as smooth as some of my plastic hooks. I noticed the larger hooks have a tapered throat on the back which tends to feel like the yarn is “catching” there. With the smaller hooks they do not have this tapered throat, but the point is so small that it’s difficult to catch anything but the thinnest of lace threads. The larger needles will be fine for creating large projects like a scarf or sweater out of yarn and the smaller needles work best for linen and cotton lace threads to make decorative objects like doilies.

They may just take some getting used but they feel fairly durable and are a good value over buying all these hooks separately.
